Nowadays, it seems like everyone has at least one podcast that they like to listen to while they go about their day. There are thousands of genres in Podcasting:
- Comedy
- Sports
- History
- True Crime
- And More!
But what podcasts are the best for business nerds?
What Podcasts are out there for those people that are looking to enrich their lives and businesses with actionable advice from legit business professionals?
The good news is that a good business podcast is not hard to find, but the bad news is that there are a lot of amazing business podcasts and you only have so many hours in the day.
In today's article, I list a few of the best business podcasts along with a few honorable mentions that I personally enjoy. These top business podcasts teach you about:
- How Professionals approach Business Management.
- Journals and Organic Logs of Business Growth.
- Best Business Practices that You Can and Should Adopt.
- Interviews with Famous Entrepreneurs and a Deep-Dive of their Business Mindset
- Business News
- And More!
Here is my list for the ten best business podcasts you should try out first.
1: Smart Passive Income With Pat Flynn
All successful entrepreneurs know that true financial freedom and success comes from establishing passive income.
Smart Passive Income is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. In this weekly podcast, hugely successful entrepreneur Pat Flynn uses his experience in marketing and finance to explain how you can set up as many streams of passive revenue as possible. He shares his experiences, both good and bad, in the business arena.
He has built a massive community around his listeners who have grown from his business advice and he has managed to educate young entrepreneurs all around the world.
It has 4.8/5 stars on Apple Podcasts and is one of the highest rated business podcasts out there.
2: How I Built This
Produced by NPR and hosted by Guy Raz, this is THE business podcast for Entrepreneurs and business that love a good story. Every episode weaves a narrative story about the journey to success for famous entrepreneurs, innovators, and businesses.
This business podcast is also elevated by its world class guests, from business owners to entrepreneurial thought leaders from all around the globe. Not many podcasts can say that they consistently host other business owners that people will flock over in droves to hear quite like this one.
This podcast has a rating of 4.7/5 stars on Apple Podcasts and is one of my personal favorites.
3: The GaryVee Audio Experience
This is a podcast made by Entrepreneur, Businessman, motivational speaker and influencer Gary Vaynerchuk, known online as GaryVee.
His content and traffic is definitely founded more on his preexisting fame. However, that isn't a bad thing as it still is very entertaining and educational for younger entrepreneurs who want a familiar voice to give them actionable tips and motivation.
This Podcast has 4.9/5 stars on Apple Podcasts and uploads new content daily
4: StartUp by Gimlet
StartUp is a Spotify Exclusive that follows Alex Blumberg's journey to start his own podcast business, Gimlet. After years of working in journalism, reporting on other entrepreneurs, Blumberg decided that it was finally his time to stop reporting on businessmen and become one himself.
He uses the podcast as an audible journal, describing his businesses journey; the ups, downs, and what he and his wife learned about business in between. He also interviews marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, and other podcasters.
Funny enough, StartUp has become one of the best business podcasts out there. It is a really cool concept and makes for a great podcast. It really separates itself from other business podcasts because you get to witness this really intriguing process.
You cheer them on when they achieve growth, you get upset along with them when they screw up, but you can always glean really valuable insight from everything they encounter. It ran from 2015 until late 2019 when the "experiment" came to an end (I won't spoil it for you).
This podcast is only available on Spotify, but it has a 4.4/5 Star rating on PodChaser.
5: Planet Money
Just like "How I Built This", this podcast works to simplify the never-not-confusing concept that is modern economics and how it shapes the world around us.
Maybe it's because I am an economics nerd, but I am a sucker for this sort of content. All leading entrepreneurs should have a firm grasp of the economy and how that affects their own ventures.
This podcast has a 4.6/5 Stars on Apple Podcasts and uploads new episodes 2-3 times a week.
6: Earn Your Leisure
This Podcast is co-hosted by entrepreneurs Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings. Their mission statement is to mix a college business school course with modern pop culture and show how both are organically connected.
This is also a very important and interesting business podcast because it prioritizes Financial Literacy and motivation for both new and veteran entrepreneurs.
It has a rating of 4.9/5 Stars on Apple Podcasts.
7: Bigger Pockets Real Estate
Have you ever been curious about what it takes to succeed in Real Estate? This is the Podcast for you!
This trio of real estate investors host 2 weekly episodes where they interview other investors and Entrepreneurs, discuss different veins of real estate, and just about everything there is to know in-between.
This podcast has a rating of 4.8/5 stars on Apple Podcasts
8: The Tim Ferris Show
Author of the best selling book "The 4 Hour Workweek", this guy has put himself through countless social and business experiments and reports on what works and what doesn't.
This is definitely one of the most entertaining podcasts on the list, as he constantly has awesome guests. Not just entrepreneurs or some random business owner, but he also picks the brains of world class performers, writers, and celebrities.
It has 4.5/5 stars on Apple Podcasts and uploads are twice a week.
9: We Study Billionaires
This Podcast is geared towards people that want to learn more about investing and what that looks like on the big scale.
This daily show takes a deep dive into some of the worlds most famous and well known billionaires and analyzes what they invested in, when they did so, and how that turned out.
It has a 4.6/5 stars on Apple Podcasts.
10: Entrepreneurs on Fire
We are gonna close out this list with Nate's personal favorite. Entrepreneurs on Fire is hosted by John Lee Dumas, and is a critically acclaimed Business Podcast where he chats with some of the worlds brightest Entrepreneurs.
Nate recommended this podcast to me and it has been awesome; I find it so entertaining while also learning so much about what I can do to improve myself. To me, its the closest thing that I have to a personal development podcast, and its just a blast to listen to.
I couldn't recommend this one higher and they upload new episodes daily.
