19 Blogs You Need to Follow That Will Grow Your Business

By Nate McCallister / a couple of years ago

If you aren't familiar with RSS feed readers, 19 blogs is a lot to follow.

I will explain more, but first, let's be sure you know what an RSS feed reader is.

Definition= RSS Stands for (Rich Site Summary). It is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. A feed reader is an application that allows you to manage and read all of the blogs you subscribe to in one place. (via http://www.whatisrss.com/)

The feed reader that I use is Feedly. I use the free version and it does everything I want it to. Best RSS Feed Reader

I considered going with the pro version because I wanted Evernote integration, but instead, I just forward the articles I like directly to my Evernote email address.

Some of the blogs I subscribe to post content several times a day, some way less.

I am a notorious “skimmer.” To me, more information is better. I can quickly filter through what I do and don't feel like reading.

Some people become overwhelmed by options, but I feel that it improves my chances of finding an article super targeted to what I need at any particular time.

Also, having a lot of blogs in my reader allows me to stay in tune with my industry (entrepreneurship and online marketing) even if I don't read most of the articles.

I have written before about my reading techniques *insert link* and how they apply to books, but I feel blogs are just as valuable (if not more) than traditional books.

The same reading methods apply to them as they do with books.

There Are Several Advantages Blogs Have Over Books

  1. They are to the point and (typically) include less “filler.”
  2. They can update dynamically to reflect what is going on right now in the industry. Books obviously cannot.
  3. They allow user interaction (sometimes).
  4. They allow more media options. Pictures, GIFs, Videos, and audio clips make blog posts much easier to digest.

The 19 Blogs I Have on My Feed Reader

I am feeling super lazy today, so I am not going to describe what each of these blogs is all about. You should check them each out on your own, but I have found dozens of articles I love from each of them.
